Persuasion

"The greatest mistake you can make in life is to continually be afraid you will make one." - Elbert Hubbard

Last year, I made a big mistake I lied to someone I like, and I didn't realize how much it would hurt her. I didn't know that my actions caused her to cry every night. As days passed, I noticed she distanced herself from me. I tried to ask her, but she always said 'nothing.

Months later, we fell in love with each other, but during arguments, she would bring up my past mistakes, which became frustrating. Despite explaining my side, she still fears I'll repeat those mistakes. We argue over small things, partly because I often make hurtful mistakes. Eventually, I realized I needed to explain and make her understand my perspective, but she still struggles to trust me due to my past actions. The trust she had in me has been shattered because of that one mistake, and she's afraid it might happen again.
